How did we get here?

Our founder and CEO Blind Depot Canada has multiple buisness in the window covering and he saw opportunity in the difficulties small businesses faced when they needed good-looking marketing materials in small quantities and at low prices. He hopes to remove these constraints by offering marketing materials that are small-volume, flexible, high-quality, fast and affordable. Like many of our clients, Robert started his business alone, working from his apartment in Montreal.

In its early years, the company existed as a direct mail catalog called Bonne Impression, providing business cards, brochures, newsletters, and software to small businesses in France and later the United Kingdom and Germany. In November 1998, a major strategic shift occurred: We went online, combining online graphic design software, e-commerce ordering and centralized printing.

 In 1999, we changed our name to VistaPrint and invented two key software technologies that would transform the industry: browser-based desktop publishing and workflow automation that automatically aggregated large numbers of small orders into high-quality, low-cost, high-volume production flows. .
